dunno if this is the right place to write this but..

    as my garden is a complete tip (lazy dad) its full of weeds, ive dug the ground so its soft again (if that makes sense) and now i just need to know how to get rid of the weeds, what tools i should use as im a complete begginner lol, thanks alot

    (jus noticed the begginers section on the forum too, sorry for postin here lol)

    dig deep and get the roots right out - if you do this, no weeds! A decent border fork is best for doing this. To get rid of the annual weeds that don't have deep tap roots, use a hoe - any B + Q will have them. A tub for chucking the weeds in is good!

    I would hoe it, and go on hoeing it. Having done the hard work, hoeing should be very quick and easy. As Nixonf23 said you need to remove all the roots you can. But there will still be plenty of stuff (seeds, small roots etc) that will try to grow. Continually cutting their heads off puts them off - its been a well established procedure since Henry VIII's day. :D :D :D

    If it's really overgrown a sprayer is a good tool to have, and a bottle of glyphosphate.

    get the hoe ready - and suddenly you're doing organic gardening- the stale seed-bed system!!
