I have the same trouble Woo.

I think its mostly on the mirror as I dont see it on pictures I take.

But I think its best to get someone who knows what they are doing to clean the whole thing.
I bought a cleaning kit from Jessops, wished I'd not bothered, but at least I got some nice pink cotton buds for cleaning out my ears.

I had a lens repaired a couple of years ago, by a friend of a friend, he apparently does work for the KM photographers.
My mates stuff is top notch, and he says he does a good job.

He is in the Larkfield area.

Canon says you mustn't use cotton buds (or anything else) to clean the filter screen in front of your dlsr sensor or your warranty will be invalidated

Sorry to hear about the dirt in your camera, Woo. Have you tried using a pressurised can of air? It's worth a try, place the camera, bottom down, top up, on a level area and try a couple of very short burst followed by tipping the camera face down to drop out any dust. But always before using the can on the camera make a few bursts from the can to clear any propellant liquid from the nozzle so it isn't sprayed into the camera.
I change lens quite a few times when outdoor, or indoors, and always have the next lens ready to put on the camera. But one of the tricks is to always point the camera to the ground when changing lenses as that will lessen the chance of dust/dirt getting inside the camera as the dirt/dust would have to travel upwards which normally doesn't occur.:snork:

I also have the same issues, I took my camera in to Jessops here (when they still existed) for them to clean it for me and they made it worse. Since then I've bought my own cleaning kit (below), it doesn't do a perfect job but removes most specks, enough to stop any appearing on shots. As Armandii says always hold the camera face down when changing lenses, I also do the same when using the blower. I've also found anything likely to show up on a shot is generally on the mirror.

Camera retailers tend to recommend using swabs or cloths that are lint free unlike the cotton bud type of things.

I must say..... I wouldn't give my camera to Jessops
There was a popular device for doing the job, but I can't recall its name. If it comes to me, I will post it (the name, not the gadget :heehee:).
