Excuse:( spelling I bought in May month they bloomed then went past.

I had them potted in containers then lifted them when they had stoped flowering planted into border now ready again for a second to burst into bloom.

    Can you help me please?

Do I leave in ground over winter or lift would like to try to save them for next year.

Should have taken a photo but its been pouring of rain all day.

I would leave them in the ground. They are autumn flowerers, and most are hardy. Be careful to mark where they are though, as they are quite late starting into growth.

Scotkat - I am no expert, but I was told some are sold as 'garden mums' and are hardy, and some are 'pot mums' and are not hardy. The garden mums I bought two years ago survived outside over winter. I was also told that they are sprayed with a growth retardant to keep them small, but in subsequent years they are likely to grow much bigger. But you can counter this by cutting them back by half in July.
