I have grown some dwarf French bean slenderette this year . No problems germinating indoors and planted out on the last weekend in May. The beans I have picked have been just what I wanted , slim tender beans about 4" long :dbgrtmb: My question is how big should these plants grow ? Mine are only about 12" high , just big enough to crop really . Is this correct ?

    TIA

    Wotcha Harry :)

Yep, that's about right. They don't get much bigger. Too many snails down here to grow Dwarf ones, they'd have them away overnight.

Hiya Zigs , our posts haven't crossed for a while mate ! :dbgrtmb:
I have three of the dwarf French beans in a huge planter , now looking a little lost . Could easily have got about 7 in the space ! The beans off them though are really how I like them thin and tender , very very nice :dbgrtmb:

Apart from yours being in a raised planter :) I stopped growing Dwarf French Beans 'coz it made my back ache picking them! We grow Climbing French, from which we get a flat bean that the family likes (a bit like a runner bean, but not so coarse, so more like a French Bean in that regard) and also some typical Haricot "tubular" French Bean varieties. No backache picking those!
