Does any one know how long it takes dwarf fruit trees to mature? I planted an apple, pear and plum tree this time last year and am wondering when I can expect any fruit.

    Hi Sue,

i only have experience with dwarf apple...

I grafted mine myself at college and had small and not pleasant fruit in the second full year of growth and then a year with no blossom and no fruit after repotting. Finally, this year (4th year since the graft) I have amazingly sweet and juicy apples :) - the few that weren't got by the codling moth...... :(

if you bought yours at a garden centre I would expect fruit pretty soon, they should be a couple of years old I think. Are they in pots or in the ground? If you repotted them when you bought them it might be that they just had a year of being too happy to fruit.
