I believe dwarf gorse both flowers at this time of year, and reaches only about 10 inches high, which would accord with most of the gorse flowering round here at the moment. I've attached some images taken today - the flowers do look less densely clustered than common gorse, but every online article I read on dwarf gorse says it is very rare, so I'm wondering if anyone here would like to advise?

    Hmm! Interesting.
    Been reading up.
Sorry not seen either of ones below.
    Where in UK are you?

Ulex minor....Dwarf Gorse.map shows it mostly in S.E UK.
    Locally abundant.
Acid heath land...which shows in your last pic with the heather.
    Flowers mid July to Oct.
    Weaker more sprawling stems.
    Spines mostly 8 -15mm long.

    ..............................................................................

Ulex galli...Western Gorse.map shows mostly West of UK.
    Locally abundant.
Smaller than Gorse....but not as petite as Ulex minor.
    Only flowers in late summer.
Spines mostly 10 -25mm long. stout.
    .......................................................................

There is a bit more info but gets a bit technical.

If you really need to know maybe your Local wild life group will have an expert who can verify.
