Hi Everyone :dancy: this is my first thread and I would really appreciate some help.

I have a large conifer tree and a large conifer hedge in my garden which I think may be dying. They both have large dry and brown patches towards the back of the tree/front of hedge (sort of where they meet) which seems to be spreading.

I have read online that there are a few causes of the browning such as aphids, mites and harsh weather.

Does anyone know what is causing it?
    Can it be fixed?

    Thanks xx

Is the dead parts only between the two trees?

If so, I just think its natural die back due to lack of light.

These kind of conifers only have green on the outside, look inside and its dead looking.

The two trees are combining and becoming one, so where they meet suffers from lack of light and that part dies out.

    Thanks for you reply :)
It is mainly at the back between the two trees but also seems to be spreading slightly around the sides where it gets plenty of light.
There is a gap between the two of them.

    Yep, I could be wrong.
I've seen conifers that have brown patches appear before, but I must admit I've never looked into the cause.

Welcome to Gardeners Corner Katie. This disease below is starting to take it's toll on conifers in Britain but it's not necessarily what yours are suffering from.

Unfortunately conifers are very unlikely to recover once they start to die back as they can't replace dead branches and foliage like other trees.
