E10 is going to be the new standard petrol at UK filling stations by the autumn. All petrol cars built after 2011 will be compatible but older ones may not.

Looks like its gonna cost money for those that can least afford it.

I 10 yrs they will probably be shoving us all to be using electric, and making life as difficult as possible for those running old petrol and diesel cars.

Found this on the autoexpress site:

Previous research by the RAC Foundation indicated 28,000 Volkswagen Golfs, 18,162 Mazda MX-5s and almost 16,000 Nissan Micras in the UK are unable to run on E10.

Don't know WeeTam, could be. It's been in use in other countries for a few years and causes seals to leak inside an incompatible engine resulting in catastrophic damage.

Farmers should be growing crops for people to eat and not put in their tanks as plant based ethanol.
Especially with food shortages and rampant food price inflation gripping the world right now.

So everyone will be forced to use premium unleaded until they ban that too. What a mess :gaah:

Local misserable lawnmower dealers charging £45+vat for small engine work too.
Service a medium ride on is £275 WTF !

Why bother if we are only going to be allowed to purchase electric powered cars from 2030. Wait, E10 only compatible with cars manufactured after 2011, if you don't go electric, we will make sure you do.

It also states you get less MPG out of the stuff.

I think the race to become so called carbon neutral is going to backfire the way its going.

Food crops being used to make ethanol and waste products that should be recycled are being burnt.
Its all down to these idiots that make big gestures at climate change meetings and then struggle to reach the agreed target.

"I want an electric car " but i cant afford the 30k so i will get the neighbours to pay for it instead.
Government tax's the neighbours, then gives me a lovely lump of cash as a grant so i can buy my 30k coal/gas/nuclear powered electric car.

Then i can drive past my skint neighbours acting all smug because im saving the planet and theyre still driving their polluting old nasty cars.

So 2 stroke garden equipment is going to have problems with this stuff, but how about 4 stroke garden equipment?
                        Is there a government list?

I use Aspen in my 2 stroke chainsaws and my brushcutter and rotorvators are 4 stroke.

I checked out the car and that appears ok, but now I'm worried about my 4 stroke Honda lawnmower.
Guess i could stock up with some 4 star in my large gerry can, but I'm not sure if it would degrade over time..(the can would last me around 5 years)
There's always something new popping up to worry us.
