Our garlic seems to be doing better than normal in the veg plot. Can't remember it being this high so early - but I may be mistaken [IMG] [IMG]

Very impressive Shiney. Easily twice the hight of mine, and I planted it ages ago... :(

Do you know what variety it is?

That is... unless that's the garlic on the left and the grass next to the sage needs a trim...

    Stickman :D :D :D

Don't know what the variety is but we brought it from Spain when we visited some friends out there. We also planted ours ages ago - last spring, I think.

Funny looking garlic, did you split the bulbs into segments or just plant the bulbs. If the latter then youre going to get some very small garlic bulbs.

We just planted individual cloves but I think they had grown into bulbs by late autumn and we didn't get around to lifting them  . So I reckon each original one grew into a large bulb and they have now started growing. Maybe the outer ones will grow bigger.

You can always use the leaves in a salad, garlic chives and wild garlic (ransome) taste very nice in a salad.

I bought a pot of ransome last year and planted it in a lightly shaded spot next to the compost bin. It is coming along nicely this year so when it bushes out, I think we can use some this year. Or should we wait another year?
