A while ago I started a thread on here really looking for reassurance that my plan to blitz the garden so as to tackle the serious bindweed problem was a good plan. A few of you good folks backed me up on that plan.

The trouble is, I met stiff resistance from the wife, who complained that it is in full bloom (she was right, the few plants that we had among the bindweed were blooming), so I had to wait until some of the flowers started to wither.

She still doesn't like my idea, but I've found a way to convince her. I told her that the garden is finishing early to get an early night ready for next spring:) She reluctantly accepted my analogy so the blitz has begun.

I hope it all comes together by spring, otherwise I might come home from work one day to find my tent on what's left of the lawn, along with my tools and a note saying I can't come back in the house until it's sorted:)

    Oh no Clueless-

That means it will have seeded itself I think. How are you planning on dealing with it? You could use a chemical and swear black and blue it`s feed.

    LOL @ Lollipop.

Is there nothing that your wife really wants for either the house or the garden? Perhaps if you get her that you can get rid of the bindweed without any problems? If my OH bought me the sofas that I'd really like he could do anything to my garden, lol, I'd just have to go out and sort it the next year ;)

Although there is something to be said for getting in the garden and pulling out those pesky things you don't like, if I get into a bad mood I just go out with the spade and start digging, soon gets the calm feeling back again. Ripping out weeds is wonderful, lol, or perhaps I'm just strange.

This bindweed is getting everywhere these days-it has become a real threat to our local hedgerows
