early potatoes

    What do you find is the best early potato to grow? Also where do you get your potatoes?

    We like Lady Christl and we usually get ours from our local ironmongers type shop becaue they sell them loose and we can buy the small number of tubers we need for two people who do not eat that many potatoes.

    If you can buy them 'loose', as mentioned above by Palustris, you could try a couple of varities and see which suited your soil/taste best.

    I like a var. called 'RATTE' lovely pulled straight out, and eaten with 1 hour..
