I've never had hanging baskets. I've always assumed they took a lot of looking after. I would like to make the outside of my house more colourful though.

What i do is add some water crystals to the compost and a small plastic bottle to the middle to help jeep the moisture in. I try to mske sure the top of the soil surface is smothered in foliage again reducing water loss.

These ones ive ordered will be used for strawberries, well thats the plan so far anyway?

Nice tip, @WeeTam for water. Would like to grow strawberries in mine too, but we seem to get a lot of good breezes and I don't have a sheltered enough spot in the garden. Maybe in the greenhouse this summer....

@BeeHappy, if you are ordering some for me, can you get them delivered ready filled :heehee:!

Well that is a cracking price for Easy fill baskets :blue thumb:
I line my coir baskets with bin liner to reduce water loss and add water crystals . I find in high summer the Petunia baskets at the front need to be lowered into a trug full of water for a good soak to get the compost wet again.

Speaking of hanging baskets, I was in Aldi last Saturday and bought a pack of little drip feeders for £1.99. There are about a dozen in the pack, I think it's good value and of course is useful for folk like me who may have lots of plants in pots on the patio and around the garden.
