    Thought i'd share my echinopsis first bloom, i waited a fortnight from when the bud formed, but it was well worth the wait :yahoo:
    Bloom only lasted 3 days though :sad:

      Beautiful aren't they. You're lucky to have it last three days. Mine only last one day ...
      You seem to have a healthy looking cactus collection there :smile:

        I always move Echinopsis to a shady place when in flower as you do extent the flowering time to at least 2 nights.

            Looks like some little mamillaria flowering as well.
            Did you grow these from seed.

              @pete
              Hi Pete, no i didn’t grow the small mammillaria from seed, it was gifted to me, and it gave a lovely show of flowers which are still opening at this time of year

                I've found growing cacti to be a serious addiction, especially when looking up names!

                    I'll have a challenge for you knowledgeable folks when my seed grown lot stops being "round and spiky" or "tall and spiky" and develops some more identifiable characteristics. :)

                    We used to have a very knowledgeable member here... Paul?

                      Well done! I lost mine last winter.

                      Seek out Echinopsis oxygona if you can. It's hardier, prolific and best of all the blooms are very fragrant.............
