      Dare I say it,;)
Starvation, they are gross feeders if grown in pots, and the pots need to be pretty big.
Watering needs to be daily, often twice daily in hot weather as the plants gets bigger.

Lower leaves will tend to fade and die off, but you can see the top ones are not reaching the size the lower ones did.
Pot it on and I'm sure it will make a spurt of new dark green growth.

I been doing some searching about on Echium Pininana plants and come across Echium World web site and give them a ring, they told me most of there's are the same colour and not to worry about it as long as the crown is green and to water them once a week.
the leaf does droop on them if they don't have water but the worst thing to do with them is to over water them.
so there we go if anyone else has the same problems not to worry to much they think its the unusably hot weather we been having that's the cause.

thanks for the advice guys :)

              once a week, yeah.
In the ground I wouldn't water at all, in pot,....................
I think they are quite used to unusually hot weather.

I put my avocado outside about two months ago, to be honest it seems to be struggling, not sure why, and not done much about it.
Mine has stalled, think I did wrong repotting and immediately putting it outside.
