I have three different varieties of cherry tree in the garden. One, most definitely is edible, having been told by my neighbour ... but as the tree must be 30ft high plus, quite inaccessible. The other two are planted about 10 metres apart and both different ... both produce fruit which I leave for the birds .... BUT ... it would be nice to know if they were edible for humans. One tree is a dark leaf and the other I've always said is a flowering cherry, I assume Japanese, but hey, what do I know?!?!? I can attach pics if it would help.

    Best Regards
    Winnie

How lucky to have three cherry trees in your garden. I couldn't tell you which was edible but would love to see photos.

my neighbour has a cherry tree and the cherry stones seem to take root pretty quick, specially after they have been thru the birds.:) The cherries look edible to me though I've never had a chance to try them, the birds get there first.

I have potted a couple on, just for the fun of it and am going to grow in on in my Ma's garden.
