    Hi Flower,

Pumpkin seeds, Sister throws them in everything, even custard.

Pine nuts used in Pesto. Coconuts in curry.

Caraway seeds, was getting sweets nicked of me by the school bully when I was little. Melted a load of chocolate & stirred in a load of caraway seeds. Put them in a paper bag & just waited till the bully demanded some "sweets" Which wasn't long.

He chewed away for a few seconds, then a puzzled look came over his face & he asked what they were.

"Chocolate covered Ants" I replied. I can still see him spitting them out & looking at me as if I was mad as I carried on eating them.

He never asked for any more sweets.

Coriander seeds go well in curries or fried rice. They give a burst of super freshness when you encounter them in your dinner.

Mustard seeds are responsible for giving the vindaloo most of its heat.

In both cases they need a short spell in a hot dry frying pan to cause their hard shells to crack, otherwise they'd be like eating grit.
