elder problems

I am a new member and am having difficulty in getting rid of elder the type that has the berries can it be chipped and do the chips self seed

 

For a minute I thought this was a question about old folks.:D

You can chip it up, but take off the fruit first, or it will seed in the compost.
Probably best dug out and chipped before the fruit form.
