so that is what they look like. pretty. just bought a bottle of elderflower cordial . curious over the "royal wedding cake" in a few weeks will make one to taste it. I do like the flavor of it out of the bottle over a little ice.

There`s loads of Elder around here. The kids at the local school used to make elderflower cordial with it. Elderberry wine is good too - if you leave a few of those flowers on. Have you tried sloe gin @Snorky85 :blue thumb:

hi kazza, i made elderflower gin and rhubarb and rhubarb and ginger. Its so easy-elderflower heads, 4 tbsp of sugar and gin in a kilner jar for 3-5 days depending on strength. Rhubarb is chopped rhubarb (raw), sugar and shake and leave overnight, then add gin and leave for 5 weeks. Add crystallised ginger if u want the ginger version. My neighbours just made some strawberry gin too....were having a tasting session tomorrow night he he.

I make rhubarb water, chopped, raw, overnight in hot water covered with plastic wrap. drained in AM, add sugar bring to boil, add on lemon juice. chill and drink. So if you add gin and leave for 5 weeks, how does that work to make gin. how is that different than a shot of gin in the Rhubarb water?

its a rhubarb flavoured gin?! Adding sugar to fruit bases should increase the alcohol levels?

If you google it there's lots of info out there.

                        Very interesting.

We have some rhubarb and ginger gin that we bought - nice. I might just have a go at making some now, as it sounds easy enough.

I make wines. I have some Zinfandel.and some peach that's bottled and have elderflower and elderberry to make up.

Always fancied making the wine @kazzawazza, is it faffy or straight forward?
