We are refurbing our downstairs shower room. Currently it is fitted with an old electric shower ( 7.5 kw ? ) Replacement could be.....
1 - 10.5kw Electric shower . Fitted on 10mm² cable with a difficult cable run etc.
2 - Fit a thermostatic gravity mixer . This would be fed from a hot water tank 3.5metres ( 11 feet ) above it . The hot and cold water flow to the shower room is good.
Would a mixer shower work OK with this water head . I am a dead man if it does not !

Both feeds would have to come from above , the cold feed off your cold water tank and the hot off your cylinder.
It would work fine, in a previous life I was a plumber, I have fitted showers in the past with the cylinder on the same level as the shower and had to fit a pump.
    You should be ok

Thanks @Ian Taylor , I have just read both feeds must come from the tanks . Not sure where the cold feed in the shower room is from . I'll go and have a rummage now !

Hi @HarryS has you've got a electric shower already the cold feed will be mains water fed, not from your water tank

hmmmm 1st problem / opportunity . Turned the stop cock off and the downstairs and upstairs taps stopped instantly. This means they are all on the mains riser.

Just got your message Ian it is on the mains

To get your cold feed to your shower you will have to drain down your water tank and fit a tank connector for the shower feed, for your hot feed you will have to connect to your hot water cylinder, were the vent comes off the top you will find a T fitting you have to break in on the leg going to your hot water. Can be a bit of a pain
