I received a statement from my electricity supplier stating my direct debit was being increased from £40 a month to £57 a month,I noticed in my statement I was £155 in credit.
I contacted the company immediately and asked the question,'how can your company justify an increase in my direct debit from £40 a month to £57 a month, when I am £155 in credit' ?.
'How can your company justify this increase when they have £155 of MY money in THEIR company bank account ? '.

After a bit of stuttering and stammering, quoting figures, prices and other gobbledygook from the rep, I repeated the same question regarding the justification of the of the increase as his figures just do not tally up with me..

Needless to say ,the direct debit monthly payment has been altered back to £40 a month..

Well done music! It pays to complain when you feel you are being exploited. [IMG]

        Cheeky monkeys!
They rely on folk being too busy or too unaware to challenge them.
Good for you Music, for taking them on. That will a little less contributed to the billions of pounds profits they make off us!

It's a good way to borrow money with out paying interest, even when they over estermate your bill

1 million customer over charge by £1 = £1million, not bad when interest free

They tried to reduce my gas payments by nearly half, and up my electricity by a third, I was quickly on the phone, told them leave payments as they are and I will decide to alter payments as necessary.

I would suggest you consider moving to Ovo, they pay 3% interest on any credit balances. Try to find a savings account that beats that!
