We saw this really tall Elefant's Foot, or Ponytail Plant, in Cyprus this month.

Not only did the size of it amaze me but that it was in full flower too. I had never seen one in bloom before, didn't even know that they flowered, and then so profusely! It was a beautiful sight.

Nice plant Kedi, I've seen them flower at Kew in the greenhouses.

They do get pretty big, treelike almost, I think they branch after flowering, similar to yuccas.

Hey, Sis, that's a lovely ELEPHANT's foot, a Beaucarnea, Pony Tail, Nolina ... whatever ... as I have up on deck which is doing marvellously and hasn't been affected by the frost .... :yho:

Here is the one at Stu (Preacher Man's) garden center house taken just after we got Isabel (coz you can see her in the pic) ... not sure I've seen one blooming like yours ....

Mine are starting to form small shoots on the caudex, but I doubt they will ever get the heat to flower.

I wonder....I was given a pot plant as a present 3 years ago. It sits in the bathroom and is doing well there. It looks quite similar to the one in the pohoto but much much smaller.

I'll take it outside and photograph it in good light and see if anyone can tell me if this is it.

Bigger pot? they only went into this size a couple of years ago.:)

If they get much bigger I wont be able to accommodate them during the winter, so I dont pot on very often, I wait until the caudex almost touches the pot rim, they just grow very slowly that way.

If I could plant it out it would be nice to have it branch, but I think as a pot plant the single stem looks better.

I bought a baby (in a 3"pot) last year and although it has nearly doubled in size I think it will outlive me!:)
