Not only did Alana post a great picture to win last months comp, but she's now come up with a great theme for this month.

This will be interesting.....Alana has chosen the theme

"Earth,Wind and Fire"

and she says "
Should give everyone lots of scope for creative images.
Happy snapping"

Good luck to you all.
Can everyone please look at Guideline 6 before entering as there is a slight change. Just about everyone does it anyway I know. Allot of you have commented on how it helps when trying to make decisions on votes, if they are included. So we have made it part of the competition now to keep everything fair & square for everyone...!

A Competition for Enhanced Photographic Images.

For Photos taken within the given month, enhance/improved with the use of post picture processing software.

Reasons you may wish to enhance a photo could be to compensate for mistakes made when taking the photo, or indeed to change its atmosphere completely. For example reverting to black and white or maxing out the contrast for a really vibrant sunset.

To ensure we have common starting place for competing, a few ground rules have been established. These will ensure a common standard of submission and ensure photographs are comparable for voting at the end of the month

Please follow the guidelines below:-

1.All entries to be submitted by 23.59Hrs on the last day of the month of the competition.
2. You can enter up to three (3) pictures.
3. Give your picture a title
4. Post your photos within this thread for entry into the competition. Photos posted in other threads will not be considered
5.Photos have to be taken within the current competition month

6.You CAN use software for enhancement or manipulation of a single original image . This may include submission of an image comprising multiple layers of the original image.
Any image deemed to be more than one single image of multi layers, will be deleted.. Mods decision is final.
6a Please include a small thumbnail of the original photo no more than 150 pixels & a short explanation of what modifications you have done...

7. The winner will be decided by votes by the users of the forum.

8. The winner of the competition gets to choose the theme for the next month's competition. This theme is to be kept a separate & different theme from the" Current Monthly Photo Comp" theme.

* "Competitors are advised that they should ensure that their camera's time and date function is set correctly as EXIF data attached to most images is available to moderators and other competitors. *

Please post discussion for this months pictures and about the competition here...

The very best of luck to you all this month !!

Joe

Users Vote Guidelines below:-

1. Competitors cannot vote for any of their own photographs.

2. Competitors vote on a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place basis with 1st place carrying 5 points 2nd place 3 points and 3rd place 1 point - The photograph with the most vote points wins etc 3. Competitors votes should not be cast until after the competition closes and be in before 11.59pm three days after the competition closes.

All members of the forum get a vote, not just those who've submitted pictures.

Earth, Fire and Wind :lollol:

Converted original RAW image to jpeg and created two additional copies which were then subjected to HDR processing. Cropped the image, adjusted curves, enhanced 'edges', used some slight 'mesh warp' on the can, sharpened, added borders.

.....................Earth...Wind...Fire.......................

Two images using layers in photoshop.
Far to many clicks to list here.

I seem to be having problems posting small images
One is of fire, the other is a wind turbine.
I shall keep trying
