I have some of these in a pot, lovely little delicate flowers a bit like a tiny aquilegia. Every year they die down to nothing and come up again in Spring- they're late this year, flowers only just starting. The thing that's worrying me is the plant label says evergreen rather than hardy- is this just a mistake or am I doing something wrong?

Well certainly all my Epimediums are evergreen and hardy. All I do is shear over the leaves in early Spring so that we can see the flowers before the new leaves appear. Are you certain they are Epimediums? I will try and find a picture of one of ours for you to check!

That's what it says on the label, and I'm sure I haven't mixed it up!
I have temporarily lost the mobile phone, so can't get a picture. Heart shaped lime green leaves with rust coloured border, biggest about the size of a thumbnail, flowers similar size or smaller.
Variety Epimedium Grandiflora Nana, white flowers. Likes dappled shade and acid soil, so it says on label. It's definitely hardy! Will wait to see if you find a picture. Perhaps its the variety- mine is a tiny plant, nail scissors would be more appropriate!

Liz if you really want me to take a picture I will, mine do not normally die down, but this year they have, but are now back to green leaves, so I should just hang on.

This is the one that looked really dead, I just pulled all the dead stuff off and you could seenew growth comming through underneath - better wait until it warms up though.
