I have heard from a very reliable gardener that the use of epsom salts on lawns is very good for 'greening them up'. Sadly I did not ask what the application rate was or when best to apply. Has anyone used it, does it work, when and how much.
I have also found a price of £14 for 25kgs.

[IMG] Epsom salts are a very good source of instant Magnesium Oldwinegum. So if your lawn needs a dose of that then yes it will perk it up.. It is not a feed though... ;) Not sure about the lawn but I use it on some of my pot plants now & then & I use 1 heaped teaspoon to a gallon of water. Instant perk up too for house plants... Not sure it helps you decide how much for the lawn though sorry... :D

That's interesting Marley. I have loads of houseplants and I've used seaweed solution as a "perk up" but no remarkable results.

Is it better to give them a dose of epsom salt?
