Crikey, Epsom salts are popular on the forum tonight :heehee:

What type of soil are you gardening on? What do you hope to achieve using Epsom Salts? Where are you located (general idea, not postcode :heehee: )

I will go out and sprinkle about a teaspoon around the base of each Camellia this morning. It is supposed to help with producing next Spring's flowers which are being formed now,

I sprinkle a little round the base of the plants when the compost is damp and then water it in:dbgrtmb:

For tomatoes I'd put 2 tablespoons into a 9l watering can
That should feed 6-9 plants depending size of pots/grow bags
You should only need to do this once

You do get brown dots with magnesium deficiency, but I don't find that is usually the main sign. For me the main indicator is that the leaves go yellow, EXCEPT for the veins which remain green, like this:

Epsom salts help plants to take up nitrogen and phosphorus.. Perhaps you need some shading as well they look like they have been fried...

Doesn't look like magnesium deficiency to me, more like too hot and not enough water; possibly lacking the right sort of fertiliser too.

I doubt they will be much good, the plants look like they are shutting-down thinking they have "done their job"

Test-tube kit from the garden centre (or mail order)

Don;t get a cheap pH meter, they are notoriously inaccurate.
