I bought a couple of these last year (reduced price :heehee: )

I *think* they are perennials and the 'advice' appears to be to cut back once flowering is over. But, when is that? :dunno: Mine have flowered continuously since I planted them! Yes, even through the heavy rains and the snow and the temperature ups and downs.

I'd quite like to divide them and bring them closer to the house (they are in my copse end, so I only see them when I put the ducks to bed, or wake up the ducks) because I think I'm missing a glorious opportunity for a prolific flowering plant here.

Can anyone give me some sage advice on this plant please? Much appreciated.

Mine finished flowering last Autumn Mum so i cut them back then....only one looks to be springing back to life at the moment the others don't look happy....think that's more to do with the chickens though......i don't know whether they can be divided, mine looks like they are growing from a single stem:dunno: ....you could always take cuttings though:dbgrtmb:

    Hi mum,

They are great plants but quite short lived- usually about 4-5 years but they can be propagated by cuttings.
Funnily enough it was the first question I ever asked on this forum- there should be an old thread about propagating perennial wallflowers in the beginners section.

I would follow lolimac's advice on cutting back

    Hope that helps
    Ian
