erythrina CG2.jpg CIMG0115.jpg CIMG0114.jpg does anyone else grow the compacta form of erythrina crista-gallii? its the ideal form for the uk as it doent need to form a trunk in order to flower. it can easily be dug up and over wintered. i'ved only ever seen it for sale one. does anyone know a source for it? i'd like to try one outside permanently but cant risk my only plant

Are you sure its really a different form bodster?
I get a couple of seed grown plants to flower most years.

They are pot grown, but grow from a short stem each year.

I have two of the normal form in pots and have also got them to flower quite easily and from their second year from seed :), in both cases they have regrown from a 6 to 12 inch stem after being cut back to remove dead growth

I have not had any luck with the RHS plant finder. That's not to say that someone won't do it.

One reply on there however does mention someone 'listing' it but not since 2010??
