    Hi all
My name is steve and I'm form Wickford in Essex I'm a newbie and have started in the last year getting hooked on growing fruit (some veg) .

I had a 50 foot by 2 foot old flower bed that we cleared a couple of years ago .

I have a 3 year old grand son that eats fruit like its going out of fashion so last year I planted 2 thornless blackberry plants 1 Raspberry plant, 3 blueberry plants I have had great results this year and have now added 3 redcurrant plants and 2 black currant plants had fruit off all of them , 4 varieties of tomato ( they went wild and I cant now determine which is which...lol) some strawberries and as a test 10 garlic cloves .

I have dug up the strawberries and garlic and one the toms have finished I`m planting 3 goji berry plants .

So that bed will be full of fruit bushes , after my success this year I built a 10 metre x 1 metre raised bed, a 6 compartment herb bed on legs (may divide it inot 12 sections ) and a 10 metre x 300mm x 300mm planter which I have filled with 27 heather plants , this is designed to keep the chickens from scratching the mud onto the lawn .

Thanks for reading my drivel , I will have lots of stupid questions very soon and will post some pics up too.

    Steve
