Is it common for my golden leaf to shed its leaves? I have just nursed this plant back from last years weather. Thanks to Plantmans info it made a great recovery.Would it be best to cover it with a fleece to protect from the North Easterly Wind away up here in northern scotland.Last year it was almost naked. If anyone can help I would be most grateful.

Whilst it is evergreen and hardy a little shelter from the wind would be of help. I'm not sure that using fleece is practical as you will be negating the idea of having the lovely coloured leaves on show and you don't want to have to do it every year.

Protecting it for a while in order to see whether it survives OK is a good idea though. Check the leaves to see whether they have been attacked by scale beetle. Euonymus are prone to it as are a lot of variegated evergreens. If it is scale beetle you can spray for it.

    Good luck :thumb:

Thank you for the information.Maybe try some wind break around it,what do you think.I have seen some discoloured leaves now that you talk about disease. What do you recommend to spray with,as I will buy and spray anyway. Its the larger leave model.
