I'm stuck on what plant to grow over a large wooden pergola (this is part of my college design work so it's all theoretical...) I'm going to be having a large stone troth underneath surrounded by ferns and other shade loving plants but I'm struggling to find something to grow over the pergola which will provide year round shade although the theoretical garden is west facing so only receives sun in the afternoon (close to the house anyway) what would you recommend?

There are evergreen vareities of the all time greats like honeysuckle, jasmin and clematis. Some honeysuckles are also happy in semi shade too.

If that;s the apple blossom one, it would be perfect.
