I planted a honeysuckle last spring. It grew quite well but didn't flower.I believe I was told to cut it down to 1metre in Feb in the second year, but have been told by some to leave it alone as it didn't flower and is still healthy. It has grown to about 2meters,not very bushy but fit and well. What should I do?

Hi Ganesh, Honeysuckles are in Group 11 for pruning i.e: lightly trim. Honeysuckles take their time to settle in and start flowering. I would be patient with it and in Spring give it a feed of high potash and phosphate to encourage it to flower. I wouldn't cut it down to the ground as by it's very nature it's an untidy climber that needs support and tying in.
