Searched for Facebook here, does not seem to have been discussed before.

Anyone also want to connect on Facebook?

Hi Esther,

I only really use Facebook to keep an eye on what my kids are up to, bit confusing to me.

Your snow gone yet ?

Hi Redstar, I'd use it but there are some serious hacking and security issues that have put me off so far.

I've got a book face account but rarely use it for anything because it is well dodgey. Not least because they keep changing your security and privacy settings without telling anyone.

I am on it almost everyday, several times. Have no real issues with it.
Yep, Ziggy, snow all gone, was really warm the last couple days. Today its again bitter cold. My yard looks horrid --full of branches and limbs that have to be picked up. Not really motivated to do that, maybe I'll just go out for one hour tops and get up what I can in that hour, put it to the burn pile.

Anyway, I am up for connection on Facebook, would private message my name to those interested.

I was into facebook for a few months, but then I started building a site and devoting every second to that. Also, I never knew what to write and I was not particularly interested in others posts also. On the other hand I could not keep away from this forum!

But if you are into skype and you have chance to talk occasionally it is fine with me. By the way, are you American or English? Bye!

Miraflores, I do have a skype account. With my past wonderful Apple laptop I could use it. But my company, decided to up grade me to a stupid Toshiba PC, and I am not allowed to Skype anymore.
I so miss my Apple. I am an American.
So, Miraflores, what site did you build that your devoted to, can you share.
Take care.

Hi Red, I use facebook most days. Its got its good points and its bad. I like it to keep up with my friends and family.

I like to play some of the games too, which can be to time consuming sometimes as they can be quite addictive.:help:

I find it beats sat in front of the TV night after night.:P

Its nice to be able to interact and sometimes have a real good laugh with friends and family.

I also feel that way O2. Had a blast on Superbowl Sunday with my friends, as "my choice" team was winning. My husband frowning the whole time wishing I'd shut up cheering, he picked the losing team.

Anyway, I will message you my name for facebook hunting.

I have been on Face Book for quite some time and if you keep things private or only allow friends to see what you write, then the baddies stay away.
I to have family all over the world and need to keep in contact with them.:WINK1:
Just so as you know it ain't all bad out there just pick n choose what to do and what not to do.:yess:

Then they can all have a :grouphug: when the time is right.

Facebook.

My thoughts. A wonderful tool for those that already know each other, family and friends, that kinda thing. However, it CAN be a bullies charter, a tool for spreading malicious gossip. All in all, I think it's a bad thing. Just my opinion...

Sorry to appear to be a bit of a Luddite and paranoiac regarding Face Book, which I assure you I'm not. But a lot of my jobs needed security of information and it's kind of instilled in me.:D

By coincidence the fortnightly Computer Active Magazine, to which I subscribe, ran an article this week regarding the security of information on the Web and how easy it is for someone to learn more about you than you would like. They started off with just the name of the persons they'd got permission to track and the country they lived in. They used Face Book to see if they'd used it, and they had, they managed to see some pics, a comment from them on Face Book led them to their children, a niece and nephew, and a sister. They followed the links which showed up on other peoples posts. They found out the peoples dates of birth, schools, ethnicity, personal tastes in music, movies and fashiion. They also found out where they worked, from that they found the home addresses. They found out the landline telephone numbers from BT Directory Enquiries using the addresses, and also used the Electoral Roll to confirm the addresses. Then they used Google Street View to look at the house, even finding out from that the make and colour of car they'd got. All the people concerned were horrified to see how much had been discovered about them...........and all were convinced that all their entries and albums on Face Book had been private.

So, while I'm not against using Face Book I think some care should be taken in using it as even other peoples posts can give information away that you might not like in other peoples hands. While you might think you've got it covered, my bet is that you haven't:what::DOH:

Thank you Armandii,

Been trying to tell folk that, but you have put it all into context:dbgrtmb:

If I can find your full name & date of birth, then I can get a copy of your birth certificate and clone your ID.

I can then get credit cards in your name.

Open store accounts.

Apply for benefits.
