I know gardening is a beautiful and relaxing pastime, but how do we feel about fake plants for the house?

I recently started thinking about plants for my home and did think about fake ones. I decided that they weren't for me as I'd prefer to see a plant grow, change shape and flower whereas the fake would look the same 5 years later.

There are some very realistic ones around now and I always 'have a feel' in restaurants and shops to see if they are real or not. However, I would always go for real :thumb:

Have a look in the window of the local indian or chinese takeaway.

Now there is a situation where fake plants would look so much bettter.
Do they realise real ones need watering.

I used a bunch of fake ivy to hide a rather unfortunate piece of piping in the new kitchen... just over the cooker,no real plant would live there... there is a place for everything in this world, but as a rule fake plants make me a bit sad.

Silk flowers can cheer up a room in winter, but in summer I pack them all to the cellar.

I don't generally like them, but I have some fake flowers at the top of my stairs that I find acceptable.

I like real ones, but there are just some places in the house where it is too dark for even ivy to grow, so I have good artificial ones to add a bit of "life".

    Lovely arrangement, Peter.
