Favourite Film Actors.

Who were your favourite film stars?
The ones if they were in a movie you would go to the Cinema to see them.
Personally the two who come to mind for me,(giving my age away),were ,

James Cagney . White Heat. "Made it Ma, Top Of The World".
Audrey Hepburn. Breakfast At Tiffany's.

When I met my wife I thought she resembled Audrey Hepburn, she now resembles
Allday Heartburn. 'Only kidding love of my life, the Botox has worked wonders'..

 

Sorry Music, I've never really been into films, so no favourites.

 

The questions are directed to the past. Could it be extended to current favourite film actors or is that not in keeping with this thread?

 

In past times I'd go and see a film with Brad Pitt in it. These days I don't go to the cinema much at all so these days it's Sky films or Netflix for example. I'm tempted by films starring Anthony Hopkins and Kevin Spacey as I enjoy their performances. I would also watch films with Robert Downey Jnr, Johnny Depp and Jeremy Renner.

 

I am not a movie watcher so my judgement is very impared. Lets say: Gerard Depardieu. For female actors definitely not Angelina Jolie ( many seem to like her). Two names that springs to mind: Jane Fonda and Scarlett Johansson. Audrey Hepburn definitely. For Italian actresses, Ornella Muti she not only beautiful but a skilled performer.

 

I love Jimmy Stewart films, which I was brought up a lot when I was younger. Best film he ever did was Vertigo, one of my favourite films.

I love Audrey Tautou too or modern day Audrey Hepburn imo.

 

Anything with Alan Rickman in it! Meryl Streep is usually very good value.

I havn't got favourites really Taye diggs is always nice to watch and Ashley walters, duane martin, Jamie fox

On the other hand i do have people that i avoid movies if they are in it which include brad pitt and Jim Carrey

 

Not a great film buff , but in the older golden age actor category I always liked Robert Mitchum. He never actually acted , but said the script in the same voice in every film , but his laid back cool way did have a lot of presence.

For me the director is what we make me say "I want to see that". If a film is by the Coen brothers, Scorcese, Tim Burton, Alejandro González Iñárritu or Wim Wenders I'm there.
