I have been noticing all the aubretia around coming nicely into flower and I thought that if I had to pick two plants for a good show at this time of year my favourites would have to be aubreita of forsythia.
    what would others choose?

I'm with you on the aubretia, I've got some trailing down the wall of my raised bed. I also love the contrast of yellow dwarf daffs with muscari or blue hyacinths. I do like Ribes in flower too. Difficult to choose just two!

Celandine. I know it's not a "garden" flower but when I see it on my way to work, my heart sings. Spring/Summer is on its way [IMG]

I'm with Scotkat on this one I just adore the dwarf spring bulbs. The grape hyacinths are such amazing value for money they multiply faster than rabbits! :D Hel.xxx.

    What! about Hellebores?

I grow lots in my allotment, and take them to the garden club to sell for club funds.

The ladies fight over them, and they are not the washed out colours that are for sale in G Centres.

Only problem with them is, they take about 3 years from seed to flower, and they do hang their heads.
