30 kilos. I tried cheaper versions, from different pet food suppliers, but the birds boycotted us! I eventually had to dump the feed :hate-shocked:

The day I replaced it with the more expensive feed they all came back. Posh aren't they? :rolleyespink:

Got the record. :dbgrtmb: Still have my 1959 LP which had that song as the top of the list. That was the LP that had 'We Will All Go Together When We Go' - about the bomb.

We had the same problem Shiney, one lot of food we bought were two bags for the price of one and the birds wouldn't eat half of it and when I looked at the so called seed it look like very fine pieces of broad bean seeds ground up,or it could have been some other sort of material but beans was the nearest thing I could think of:sad:

Anyway rather than throwing it away I used to bag some of it up and when we went off for our morning walk I would sprinkle the mixture which by the way did contain some bird seed along the edge of the car park which was like a grassy verge along with very small faller apples from our allotment orchard and we would sit in the car after our walk and watch the smaller birds come down for the seed and after we had driven away we suspect the magpies and crows came down to polish of the rest so all in all a win win situation:yay:

Do you know the name of the supplier you get your seed from @shiney as it would be good to see what their prices and quality of seed is like...Thanks:smile:

PS,Dont know the singer on the second video as I am obviously a bit younger than Zigs and only vaguely know the Julie Andrews one:biggrin:

I use Lea Oaks "Pecker" Bird seed, which has a mixture of Sun Flower seeds. grain, oats, fruit, nuts, and soya oil. They all seem to like it and very little is wasted from the three feeders and the small window feeder.:snorky:

Thanks for the link @shiney I have had a quick look and a lot of the types of seeds available look pretty good:thumbsup: we used to buy sacks of Guardman seed as the local nursery used to sell it reasonably cheaply but then they sold out to Wyvale and their prices went up to something like £21-£24 a sack and the rate my birds were getting through it was costing us a small fortune especially when the starlings get their beaks in:biggrin:

We then started buying it from a GC closer to home and this is the one we were having problems with so think we might start to look at buying it from the one you suggested.Even the RSPB seed is expensive. We know they are a charity but we don't want to line too many executives pockets:biggrin:

I tend to think bird seed these days is a bit of a racket.
They get what they are given here, if they dont like it it saves me filling the feeders every day;)

They tend to eat it during the winter but are now not so interested.
