... to everyone on GC ...

Just thought I'd put a couple of pics up of our minimalistic decorations here.

This is our tree in the wood fire side of the lounge which is quite large ... that's a two-seater sofa facing the fire and there is a three-seater plus two chairs on the other side facing the TV ...

... and my little bureau ...

... and the Lisbon dresser (that's sort of like a Welsh dresser but comes from Lisbon) in the entrance foyer ...

I still have not perfected my night photography (they come out a bit blurry) so if I can figure it out I will post a few more.

How have you decorated this year?

Happy Christmas, Vicky - you've done well. Everything looks lovely. I'm still trying to sort things out. This year my son fancies a silvery white tree with silver and ice blue baubles. Unfortunately a lot of people seem to have had the same idea, as the ice blue baubles are mostly sold out!

    Have a great time. :xmastree:

Merry Christmas Victoria. You've got everything looking lovely.
I haven't put my tree up yet. I think tomorrow is the day.

    Absolutely perfect, Victoria!
Not many decorations here, other than the Christmas tree, since the little one main business is to take everything down.
But I have got my "newborn" and my two angels, so therefore I am ever so happy!
I also see the holy side of Christmas and, therefore, It is not only about decorations and presents for me.
A Merry Christmas to you and the other members of the forum.:luv:

I put up one string of lights today, god it was hard work:D

Was looking for one of those fibre optic trees where you just plug it in and" bobs you're uncle", job done, but cant find one at a "sensible" price.
So not much, But yours looks good Vicky.:gnthb:

Pete, a friend of mine who isn't overly keen on Christmas has a plastic blow-up tree. It came complete with integrated inflatable star and a selection of ornaments. :)

Well, if that's what your friend likes ClaraLou, maybe he'll like some blow up presents and a big blow up turkey for dinner :D

Thanks Pete, I'm pretty old-fashioned when it comes to trees. That one is 4-1/2 foot tall which we bought here 9 years ago. We've had our 5 foot tall fibreoptic tree (t'other half's choice) for 11 years now . He just flings a long piece of tinsel around it. It's in our outdoor living room and cost £29.95 then he says from Asda .... s00k

    Edit ... I'm a simpleton actually .. here's my front door ...

When I was a kid my parents decided to buy a huge Christmas tree. They then had the problem of how to anchor it. They filled an enormous pot with garden soil as a stand, and then proceeded to decorate the tree. Imagine our surprise on Christmas morning when we came down to find that our two cats had not only trashed all the decorations, but had each left us a little present they had made themselves in the soil filled pot. :)
