I had a twisted willow cut down earlier this year. It was beginning to damage the paving around it, and I was also worried about undermining the foundations of my house which was approx. 30 feet from the tree.
It was chopped down to ground level and stump killer was used. However, it's beginning to sprout new shoots from the stump. I don't mind cutting off these shoots but I'm worried this growth will still be causing problems with the paving/house. Do roots continue to grow even when the tree is felled?

Cutting a tree down doesn`t always mean you`ve killed it. Try treating again with root killer.:dbgrtmb:

    Hi canterbury bel

As Dai rightly said you may want to retreat the stump with a suitable chemical treatment. Depending on what is used originally, stump treatment often needs more than one application. Professional and commercial stump treatments often use a product called Timbrel that is very effective, but also very expensive.

I doubt that the roots of the tree would have caused any damage to your house originally, unless you were on particularly shrinkable clay soil, and 30' is quite a way for the thick, structural tree roots to travel. In fact, what may be more of a problem is the ground now shifting due to the root rotting away and leaving a void in the soil!
