Thanks joolz. It was bucketing it down on and off today, but I wasn't putting it off any longer. I need to paint the gravel boards now and that's that job done. :dbgrtmb:

I used cuprinol shades. I bought it in homebase, and yes, used it on the posts. It's quite thin in texture, so can run. The gravel boards are getting painted in sandtex magnolia rather than the cuprinol black.

Thank you for the comments, it's nice that someone else likes it as well as myself ( the wife does not though!)

Edited to add, I bought 3, 5L tins of the stuff and have done 12 fence panels and posts with 1 1/2 tins. I am thinking of painting the shed black now though, and the gate :snork:

An essentially English garden that you can be proud of Al. I'd love to sit up on that garden seat with a cuppa looking across your garden. Bet it looks equally good from upstairs too.
Ooooh , I just love seeing members' gardens,
                        thank you

We had a new fence put up earlier this year and what you've done has me wondering how it would look on our fence. I think it might make it seem smaller as our garden isn't as open as yours.
