I have a small Privet hedge that I would like to use for a bit of privacy from the road. Is it possible to fertiliser to get it to grow quicker? If so what would be the best thing to do?

It's currently covered in buds so seems pretty happy already:

I've not needed to do this but possibly you can use a spray on foliar feed. :)

How about a bit of growmore, cheapish, and applied a few times though the season, watered in during summer.

          Hi
Privet is a greedy plant , as Pete said growmore is ideal, also a good mulch to keep the water in helps and the weeds down , the only thing I would add is stop feeding in June /July/ so any new growth has time to ripen before the winter sets in .

I've been using chicken manure pellets for just about everything over the past two years including my roses which are very hungry. They're also cheap to buy.

Thanks all, so there's not a particularly special technique for it then I guess. I'll water in some liquid gro-more stuff starting now.
