Hey guys just want to say thanks for everyones help so far, so here goes first i have a pic for you,
    [IMG]
now i dont know what it is or how to look after it, its just starting to bud and had massive pale pink flowers when in flower, i have put a few canes around to support it as last yr the heads are that heavy the fall over, so can anyone tell what it is and how to look after it? also it gets covered in ants and carnt seem to get rid of them,
second, i have just bought this from my local garden centre, i liked the look of it,
    lithospermum heavenly blue
    [IMG]
again im going to plant it tomorrow what is there anything special i need to do or can i just plant it?
and finally my first attemp at doing a bedding plant pot, its sits up the garden by my bench,
    [IMG]
hope you like the pic`s and thanks for any imput people give....:thumb:

I am struggling with the blue one, recognise its waxy leaves and blue flowers but cannot pluck a name for it right now......that's the sign of old age coming on. With regard to the ants on the peony I would put ant dust down purchaseable from most major supermarkets or garden centres.

    Hi scooby-mas
Lots of hard work there as I can see as you have some really healthy looking plants
and I am sure you will get replies from GC members.:thumb:

    - May I just draw your attention to the Global Announcement that Daisees has
put at the top of each forum requesting that members do not post large photos that
activate the bottom scrollbar. It would be appreciated if you would reduce the size of
your photographs but if you have any problems with this we will be happy to do it for you.

    photo sizes
Just a polite request to everyone - can you please restrict your photo sizes to 800x600 max?
In other words, if your image activates the bottom scroll bar, please size it down a bit.
Some images are making life annoying for other members' posts to be read.
If you need advice/help to do this - please feel free to contact me.

    Happy gardening all!

    Hi
The first one is a Peony, as mentioned. The second is Lithodora which loves the sun. It can get leggy so a good idea is to trim it back after flowering so that it bushes again.

    Lovely plants there!

Scooby the lithospermum needs acid soil I believe, so unless your soil is acid a bit of preparation might be in order, like digging in some acid peat, leaf mould and hope for the best.
Otherwise grow it in a tub with ericaceous compost.
I wouldn't worry about the ants on the peony, not a big problem.:)

I thought the blue one was lithospermum. Is that different from lithodora? They look very similar in pictures I've found

    Still too big scooby-mas
They need to be small enough so that they do not activate the blue bar that goes right along
    the bottom.
When a photo is too big then there is a white space at the side/sides to roll the page across
and part of the text will be hidden at either side.
When a photograph is sized down then the blue bar doesn't move and all the text of the
    post is visible.

You could try the ericacious compost dug in around the planting area scooby, it may be OK for a while. Ofcourse you could actually have naturally acid soil so this would be unnessasary.
As to the pics, I think you need to upload them again, I use the 640x480 option.

You then need to delete the old ones and reinsert the new size ones.
