Hello everyone , Can anyone tell me when is the best time to repot the above house plant ? It is currently in a 4" pot the plant has lots of new leaves , it stands about 16" high ( not including the pot) and about the same in width at it's top it is showing a lot of it's roots pocking out of the soil is this ok ? It looks really silly in this small plastic pot , how much bigger should I go in a nice ceramic pot , what compost should I use and how long before it needs potting on again (how long in other words will I have to look at the new pot before I can have a change? Thank you . Tonyone. [IMG]

Dr Hessayon says that you should avoid frequent repotting of ficus. Repot in spring every second year with good quality compost (peat free). Don't over water.

Thanks Hornbeam and Pete think I might just pop the ugly plastic pot into a nicer ceramic one until spring then. My wife wipes the leaves regularly with a banana skin , makes them shine , can't do any harm can it ?
