    Hi,

In one of my borders the previous occupants put an old tin bath sunk down to be a kind of pond. I've decided to get rid of it and so will need to fill in the (around) 1m long x 1/2m wide x 1/2m deep hole that it will leave.

I would like to know what I should be using to fill the hole, should I just get a few bags of compost or is there anything else that would be better suited for drainage etc...

I've not decided exactly what will go in the new space yet but it will probably be shortish border filling plants.

    Thanks in advance

    Andy

Ordinary soil, good compost. make sure the bottom is well forked over, so that water drains, it could be compacted.
