As my stupid phone's getting rather old, I though I'd get something more up to date (a Huawei Ascend Y100 Android smartphone - my daughter might have to show me how to use it). This seemed such a bargain I couldn't resist it.

If I get that £50 cashback it'll mean they've paid me £25.01 to take it off their hands!

You'll struggle to find a better deal than that:)

You should have bought a couple of dozen of them:)

What's this quidco all about then? I've heard one of the lads at work mention it. Sounds alright. Is there a catch?

If purchase stuff going via www.quidco.co.uk you can get cashback (either lump sums or a percentage of spend) paid into your Quidco account that gets periodically paid into your bank account and although it can take months for some payments to get into your account, if you always compare against other offers and use when it's the best deal it all adds up, although they take £5 p.a. off your savings. A good example is 12% cashback from all T&M orders and 5% off Suttons.

If I'm going to use that phone for tethering on holidays (when I also make lots more calls than normal) I'll probably use a giffgaff sim (that'll work in phones locked to O2) and order my free giffgaff sim via Quidco to get £5 cashback - see how it all adds up. http://www.quidco.com/giffgaff/?ac

P.S. The cashback on that phone is only supposed to be £5.50, which is probably only what I'll end up getting, but sometimes these things slip through. Even if I get it for £19.44 it'll still be a good buy (some places want £60 secondhand and others over £100 new).
