    Hi Rosa:

Jasmine and honeysuckle tend to throw out sub-surface runners that will throw up new shoots some distance from the parent. They also self layer readily. Constrained in a pot they should be OK but if you want new plants try teasing one of the root ends out a bit and see if it will leaf up. When a plant is potbound it will normally show at the bottom of a pot. If in doubt gently tap it out and have a look at the rootball.

Thanks frogesque will try that bit, worried about trying to lift those pots they are so heavy, dread it when i come to changing to bigger pots as the ones i am getting are really heavy in fact i will have to get them delivered as i would never get them up these stairs to my flat as i am third floor with no lift.

A large container full of wet compost and a large plant can get surprisingly heavy. It's probably better to purchase stone effect plastic pots rather than clay or concrete for anything larger than 18" dia. Any containers I deal with are on ground level and I can move them with a sack barrow but re-potting is a nightmare and there's a huge Euronymous in a wooden half barrel that's completely pot bound that I've been putting off moving into a garden.

I have looked at the plastic ones and not seen any large enough cant say i have seen stone effect ones can you get large square ones and quite tall as the clay concrete ones i have seen are the perfect size that i want.
Dreading doing mine by the way also as my vine is already in a concrete-clay one and even that is quite heavy, when i come to do them my friend is going to give me a hand as i will need someone to hold the climbers and vine, when i pull the pots from them. I honestly dont think i can do this on my own.
