Don't you just hate waiting for the phone to ring?? I'm waiting for the hospital to ring, to say they have a bed free for me so that I can have an operation on my back.

Been waiting for over a year for this day, and today is seeming like it is taking an absolute age to pass.

So fingers crossed, all goes well, and I'm back giving pearls of wisdom on here, and winning some more games in the arcade, soon.

Thank you for your kind words. I got the phone call, and I was in hospital within the hour! Had the op the next day, and I'm like a new person!

I can do lots of things that I had problems with before, but I am taking things slow, and making sure that I don't bend, twist or lift in my first few weeks post op. Fingers crossed, recovery goes as well as what the operation appears to have done!

I'm glad all went well. If you take it nice and easy for a few weeks like you said you're going to, I'm sure you'll be on top form in no time.

    Glad everything turned out OK.

I had a new hip mid-September, less than three months since I first went to see my doctor about it.
I was operated on in Wythenshawe Hospital. I was in the new part of this now massive complex. I had one of the eight side rooms off a main ward to myself, complete with it's own wet room.
The NHS gets a lot of stick and the administration is often rubbish (I had some experience of that) but the care was first class.

Plant, so glad everything has turned out good for you. Take it easy at first and you'll be fighting fit in no time.

Funnily enough I heard this morning about a man who has had a kidney transplant and is so full of life now, so much energy he has got an allotment, built a shed there, going to have table, fire in it etc. So, we expect to hear about all you're doing soon!

    cheers
