First daffs have opened

    First daffs of the year have opened and Spring is definitely on the way :dancy:

      They bring a happy time of year, mine are still only 5" high. Where are situated?

      They are in a narrow, shallow channel which runs down the side of the drive. South facing.

      hmmm just checked mine this morning , just thought how slow they are this year. The ones in the lawn are about 50mm high and the containers are just showing. I'm just 20 miles west off you. The ones at work are just forming their flower heads .Daffs are a lovely harbinger of spring :dbgrtmb:

      Very pretty :blue thumb: Some of mine looked like they were almost ready 2 days ago i will go and check again shortly,i cant wait for the tulips aswell :dancy: mainly because ive forgot what ive planted and where:doh:

      Some of mine a ready to come out 2 inches high, but these are NNE facing and there is stone and builders rubble,

      The ones in the garden SW facing are about 2 weeks behind

      It all depends on the variety as well I have February Gold , like Joolz two days they should be open , at least it has started :spinning:

        Ah, mine came from Tesco in a bit of a rush last year, so they might well be part flower part horse or something :heehee:

              I heard on the radio a few months ago , I have Googled it and can't find the exact answer , that there are possibly over 25,000 varieties of Daffs !!! So no wonder we don't know the variety name . I bet 90% of GC members planted bargain bucket daff bulbs , they are so cheap in November , amazing value :dbgrtmb:
