Found these 2 Ladyboys on John Box bush.

They didn't move so I assume they are hibernating still, just seemed a bit of an exposed place to kip.

Jiffy, are they the harlequin ladybird? They are known to be in larger numbers and are not friendly with out normal ladybird.

I have one little ladybird on my fusia - sleeping away. :)

Thousands of ladybirds all clustered together in some kind of commune situation in various shrubs. Seem to like box and bamboo. Never seen so many in the garden and this early too. I've seen a few here and there right through the winter. Bizarre. Really nice to see though, don't they feast on aphids??

On the other hand noticed a geranium in my sunroom with tons of greenfly munching on it. Grrrr.

They strip the blackfly from the broadbeans when they get going Fens.

Try putting a few Ladyboys on the Geranium. If they don't eat the greenfly, at least it will give the neighbours something to talk about:heehee:
