    Hi All,

I've tried container planting for the first time a week ago.

Got a load of cheaps from B&Q and these are some of them all planted up. Don't they look lovely. Never realised I had artistic leanings. Y

Going a bit container crazy now. And have bought a few more pots for my pergola.

Does anyone have any ideas what colourful plants would go well in the shade.

    Ta.

Tuberous rooted begonias give a riot of colour and don't need it hot and sunny. Pansies, I have found, are quite happy to be in good light but no sun. They go on and on and on - with deadheading. Very thoughtful colour combies in those 2 planters,:blue thumb:

I like the second container best but you have a flair for it so will do well to spread some containers like that around. Welcome to the thread by the way.:)

Thank you both. Appreciation gratefully received. :)

No one around me knows much about plants so lovely to know I'm on right track.

On a mission at the moment with pots at the moment. My Mum has given me some old clay ones of hers. Am thinking of a combo of hosta, inpatients and purple nemesia.

      Would these go together?

      Happy Jubilee weekending all.

Being a bit cherry picky, what colour impatiens had you in mind?

Nice combiClueless. I think Hostas and Impatiens prefer a shadier site but maybe Nemesia like it sunnier? Someone will be around to correct me I expect.
When you do a planter mix, its not always possible to accommodate each plant's favourite spot....
