Has anyone a recipe for a simple fish pie please? Herbs are fine, but no spices or garlic please. :)

Years since I made a fish pie but I would probably gently poach some mixed white fish chunks in milk, then use the liquid to make a white sauce, (with butter and flour) maybe with a splash of white wine or stock. I would add a bayleaf and lots of parsley, maybe some saffron if I was feeling adventurous. I would add a few peeled prawns if I had any. You could add onions though I'm not sure that would seem quite right with fish. Capers would be an additional flavouring option. You could include some smoked fish, like haddock.

Then I would top the lot with some fluffy mash and bake.

I use smoked haddock and salmon for the fish. HID makes the white sauce with fresh parsley. Then add some of my dried tomatoes. Then the topping of mash and finally a cheese topping. Bake for about 25/30 mins. These are single serving dishes. Cut down on serving up and keep the food really really hot while you eating.
Also try a hard boiled chopped egg...loverly.

I have had the hairy bikers fish pie and they are great, But at £6 a portion a tad expensive.

prawns (the large pink shelled ones)

a slab of feta cheese crumbled

a bit of fresh double cream (or creme fraishe)

2 egg yolks (mix with the cream)

      salt

      fresh ground pepper

      a pinch of smoked paprika

      fresh parsley (chopped)

      -----

heat the cream in a pan .... add the other ingredients .... stir ... remove from the heat and place in an oven proof glass bowl

cover with melted buttered layers of filo pasty and cook in the oven till golden bown

      ps:

I have never tried this and made up the recipe as I went along (however, I might try this sometime)

Saute onions. Can of Cream of Celery soup. Cut up raw potatoe in small cubes. Some frozen peas. Broken up frozen fish. I used salmon last time.
Throw all in a pie crust, top with pie crust and bake.

Fry chopped onions, mushrooms, etc. (whatever you've got) in the oil drained from tinned tuna (+ some extra), add veg & fish to pie dish together with some fennel leaves (unless you've fried some florence fennel), add a tin of condensed mushroom, celery or asparagus soup, top with mashed spuds. Cheesy topping optional.
